Admissions Information

Duke’s Master in Business, Climate, and Sustainability (MBCS) program offers a competitive skill set for entry into the business world with a climate focus. It is designed for early-career students with 0–2 years of professional experience who are eager to lead at the intersection of business and environmental impact.

While the program will naturally attract candidates with academic or practical backgrounds related to business, climate, sustainability, or the environment, we strongly encourage candidates from all undergraduate majors with a strong record of achievement both in and outside the classroom to apply.

Applicants should ideally have some exposure to quantitative coursework (e.g., statistics, economics, or data analysis), though competency in quantitative methods may also be demonstrated through standardized testing. A valid GRE, GMAT, SAT, or ACT score is required for admission consideration.

As a globally recognized institution, Duke values international perspectives and welcomes applicants with undergraduate degrees from institutions across the world.

Please note that MBCS applicants may not apply to a separate degree program offered by either Fuqua or the Nicholas School. The MBCS degree is joint-degree offered in collaboration with both schools and if you choose to apply to this program, you may not submit an application for individual program at either school. If you have questions about this policy, please email the MBCS Admissions Counselor.
